10. Queen Mary's New Years Eve Party

Set sail into 2013 aboard Long Beach's famous vessel, with a disco tribute band, dueling pianos, jazz performances and DJs spinning. Everything culminates with a fireworks spectacle over the ocean.

9. New Year's Eve with Idina Menzel

8. The Groundlings' New Year's Eve Spectacular

Sketchy New Year's Eve plans? Instead, try the Groundling's annual improv and sketch comedy show. This year, it's emceed and directed by Karen Maruyama (The Campaign) and stars Liz Brown (The Liz Brown Show), Matt Cook, (2 Broke Girls) and other members of The Groundlings Main Company and Sunday Company. Tickets include an open bar, hors d'oeuvres and a Champagne toast.

7. Magicopolis' 2012 New Year's Eve Party

6. Kevin Hart at Staples Center

3. Fireworks at Universal CityWalk

Universal continues its annual extravaganza of fireworks, music, dancers and raining confetti. Universal Studios Hollywood will also turn its Blues Brothers' stage into a DJ stand and dance space and will hold family-friendly entertainment at its WaterWorld attraction.

2. New Year's Babble-Eve at the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club & Podcast Theater

Hollywood skewer-ers Ralph Garman and Kevin Smith move their usual Saturday routine to Monday for a special New Year's Eve version of Hollywood Babble-On. Tickets include champagne, but do not include the comedy club standard of a two-item minimum per person.
