One Killed in Head-On Collision near Rancho Santa Fe Court

RAMONA, CA (December 1, 2022) – Early Friday morning, one victim was killed in a head-on crash on State Route 78.

Officers responded to the scene shortly before 5:00 a.m., near Rancho Santa Fe Court on November 25th.

According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Information Page, two vehicles collided head-on which resulted in the death of one person.

Meanwhile, a SigAlert was issued on the east and westbound lanes of SR-78 at around 5:20 a.m., due to the debris of the violent crash. Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, further circumstances surrounding the fatal head-on crash on State Route 78 are still under investigation. Once available, more details will be provided to the public.
