Fiery Accident near Red Mountain Freeway Left One Person Dead

MESA, AZ (October 25, 2022) – Sunday afternoon, police responded to a fiery crash on Loop 202 where one person was killed.

The fatal accident happened on October 23rd at around 4:15 p.m. on the westbound lanes of Red Mountain Freeway, near the Broadway exit.

According to police, officers responded to the area and found a vehicle crashed into a wall under Broadway Road overpass.

Furthermore, the vehicle was engulfed in flames and one person was trapped inside. Unfortunately the trapped individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the westbound lanes of Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway were blocked following the incident but it has since been reopened.

Consequently, the events leading up to the fatal crash have not yet been determined by authorities.

Further investigations are underway.
