Santa Rosa SMART Train Crash Left One Person Injured

SANTA ROSA, CA (October 18, 2021) – Police are investigating a SMART train crash in Santa Rosa that left one person injured Wednesday.

Officials responded to the incident around 11 a.m. on the tracks near W Steele Lane.

Eventually, the first responders arrived at the scene and extracted one person from a vehicle and transported them to a nearby hospital.

Additionally it is unclear how the collision occurred between the train and the vehicle but an active investigation is underway.

Luckily, no other injuries were reported on the train.

Santa Rosa officials closed the surrounding area for cleanup and preliminary investigations but has since been reopened.
