One Hospitalized after Accident on Friars Road in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 5, 2021) – A 27-year-old man on a moped sustained injuries in a collision on Friars Road on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 10:21 a.m., on the 7000 block of westbound Friars Road. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.

According to reports, a 30-year-old man driving a Honda Civic exited his apartment complex parking lot and was driving southbound into Friars Road. Meanwhile, a moped entered the intersection against a red light and crashed with the Honda Civic.

Responding emergency personnel transported the moped driver to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Although, there has been no update on their current condition.

In addition, the Honda driver did not sustain injuries, CHP added.

At this time, officials are currently investigating the crash. More information will be provided once available.
