18-Year-Old Wrong-Way Driver Dies in Crash near Thunderbird Road

PEORIA, AZ (October 10, 2022) – Late Tuesday night, a wrong-way driver died following a fatal crash on Loop 101.

According to Arizona DPS, the incident happened on October 4th just after 11:00 p.m. involving two vehicles.

According to reports, a vehicle driven by the 18-year-old man traveled northbound on the southbound lanes and crashed head-on with the other vehicle that was driven by a 22-year-old man.

Emergency crews arrived at the site of the collision shortly after and pronounced the 18-year-old man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported the 22-year-old man to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. At this time, the identities of the victims have not been released.
