52-Year-Old Dies in Auto Collision on Nordhoff Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 23, 2022) – A car accident on 405 Freeway claimed the life of one man Saturday morning, authorities said.

The incident happened around 10:10 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Nordhoff Street.

Furthermore, police say a 52-year-old Reseda man was driving a 1997 Toyota pickup truck in the No. 3 lane.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old North Hollywood man was slowing his 2013 Chevrolet work van due to stopped traffic ahead.

Consequently, driving at an “unsafe speed for the prevailing traffic”, the pickup-truck driver crashed into the van because the Reseda man failed to slow down, noted the police.

Paramedics pronounced the Toyota driver dead at the scene while the van driver suffered minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

Both victims remain unidentified as of this time.

For about three hours, authorities closed the Nordhoff Street off-ramp and lanes 2, 3, and 4 of the northbound 405 for cleanup and preliminary duties.
