Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision at Highway 99

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 9, 2021) A 58-year-old Alhambra man lost his life Thursday night after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 99.

The collision happened around 9:30 p.m. at the eastbound Highway 58 on-ramp from the southbound lanes of Highway 99

According to preliminary reports, a 2005 Ford sedan rear-ended a 2012 Ford two-axle truck. Causing a crash with the two vehicles due to slow traffic flow and the 2005 Ford’s unsafe travel speed.

Firefighters extricated the driver, but he died from his injuries moments later.

Medics then attended to the driver of the 2012 Ford, who had minor injuries.

At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of the drivers involved. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
