One Dead after Big-Rig Collision near West Base Line Street

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (February 22, 2022) – Sunday morning, one person was killed in a semi-truck crash on Interstate 215.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a stalled big rig around 3:54 a.m., near West Base Line Street.

For reasons unknown, the driver of a vehicle rear-ended the parked semi-truck. Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced the vehicle’s passenger dead.

Officials later arrested the driver on suspicion of a DUI. Despite his refusal to have his blood drawn for BAC testing, a warrant has been signed for his blood draw.

Meanwhile, the San Bernardino police continue to investigate the fatal crash and will release updates once available.

Driving under the influence is one of the most dangerous things you can do as a driver. If you find yourself unable to safely drive, you can always contact a Lyft or Uber instead.
