Fatal Collision near Interstate 17 Leaves Toddler Injured in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (September 2, 2021) – Monday morning, a driver was killed and a toddler was injured in a car accident near Pioneer Road.

The crash took place at around 3:30 a.m., near I-17 and Pioneer Road, according to reports. Dispatchers arrived to the scene shortly after.

Investigators say a pickup-truck with two individuals inside veered off the right side of the road for unknown reasons. The vehicle then traveled down hundreds of feet before striking a box culvert.

The driver perished, while a toddler suffered injuries. However, there has been no further information released.

Meanwhile, the crash on Pioneer Road is still under active investigation.
