Man Dead, Woman Injured after Car Accident near Bernal Avenue
PLEASANTON, CA (September 19, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, one person died in a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 680.
The incident happened on September 10th, around 5:48 a.m., just south of the Bernal Avenue off-ramp.
According to California Highway Patrol, the vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons and collided with a cement barrier, and rolled over many times. The impact of the collision caused the male passenger to be ejected from the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the female driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. Following preliminary duties, officers confirmed that both of the occupants were not wearing any seatbelts.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after and pronounced the male passenger of the vehicle dead at the scene. Medics also treated the female driver of the vehicle with unspecified injuries.
Moreover, authorities reported that the northbound lanes of Interstate 680 were shut down for several hours for further investigations and cleanup duties.
