Accident Involving Big Rig Ends with 1 Fatality

ARBUCKLE, CA (August 18, 2021) An unidentified pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 5 on Saturday morning.

The collision occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on August 14 on Interstate 5, south of Hahn Road.

According to the CHP, the pedestrian was walking northbound on Interstate 5 when for unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim.

Officers are on the lookout for the big rig, which fled from the scene.

The CHP believes the big rig will have right front damage and will be missing its entire right front headlight assembly.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the CHP office in Williams at 530-473-2821.

Meanwhile, the crash is still undergoing active investigation.
