Traffic Accident on Cedar Avenue Left One Fatality

FRESNO, CA (March 30, 2022) – Saturday evening, a pedestrian crash on Highway 180 left one person killed, police said.

According to the police, the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. and shut down the westbound lanes of 180, just past Cedar.

Furthermore, the California Highway Patrol claimed that a pickup truck hit a homeless person trying to cross the highway, before fleeing the scene.

Additionally, a number of other cars struck the man along the highway, but those drivers pulled over and waited for authorities to arrive.

At this time, the CHP identified the deceased victim only as a man in his 50s or 60s.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Moreover, authorities are conducting an active investigation into the pedestrian crash along Highway 180.
