One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Interstate 10

TUCSON, AZ (May 22, 2023) – Late Tuesday night, one victim was killed in a pedestrian collision on South Palo Verde Road.

The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m., near Interstate 10 on May 2nd.

Per reports, a pedestrian attempted to cross the road just east of Palo Verde from the Circle K gas station. There, the driver of a passing vehicle struck the pedestrian.

Medics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following preliminary duties, officers ruled out speed and impairment as a potential factor.

Emergency crews closed both lanes on South Palo Verde Road near the I-10 entrance before they were later reopened. Once available, more details will be provided.
