One Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident at Sweetwater Road

SPRING VALLEY, CA (February 4, 2022) Friday evening, one unidentified person was killed in a pedestrian accident at Sweetwater Road.

The crash happened around 7:09 p.m., along Sweetwater Road just north of Saint George Street.

As per reports, a 17-year-old Chula Vista teen was driving his Volvo when he struck a pedestrian who stepped out from the sidewalk to cross the street.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, responding paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities withheld the victim’s identity until his next of kin are notified.

Meanwhile, the Volvo driver and his passenger escaped the crash unharmed.

California Highway Patrol officers believe that drugs or alcohol did not play a role. However, an active investigation is still underway.
