Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicles near Jackson Avenue in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA (October 12, 2021) – Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident on Interstate 680, early Wednesday morning.

Officials responded to the scene just after 5:25 a.m., on the northbound lanes of 680 just south of Jackson Avenue.

Afterwards, a second call reported that a vehicle also struck a pedestrian in the number 3 lane. Upon arrival, the first responders located the pedestrian laying in the number 2 or 3 lane of the highway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle continued driving after hitting the pedestrian. However, the two other vehicles that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Tragically, the paramedics declared the victim dead at the scene.

At this time, the San Jose Officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the I-680 pedestrian crash.
