Man Dies after Vehicle Struck Him on Interstate 5

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 2, 2021) – Authorities said a man died Wednesday morning after a vehicle and pedestrian accident on Interstate 5.

The incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on October 27, on southbound Interstate 5 near eastbound state Route 94.

According to the CHP, the 20-year-old Las Vegas man had just gotten out of a car he had been traveling in and was walking on the ramp when the vehicle struck him.

Authorities withheld the victim’s identity until his next of kin are notified.

At this time, authorities do not currently believe that drugs or alcohol were factors.

Moreover, CHP closed the freeway connector for two hours for cleanup and investigation. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
