Rider Dies in Car vs Motorcycle Accident on University Avenue

RIVERSIDE, CA (March 4, 2022)Thursday afternoon, one rider was pronounced dead after a motorcycle collision on Orange Street.

The crash happened around 2:12 p.m., in the area of Orange Street and University Avenue.

According to reports, a 23-year-old Riverside County resident was driving a 2016 Ford Transit Connect Van west on University Avenue. For reasons unknown, the vehicle collided with a motorcyclist traveling eastbound University Avenue.

First responders located the motorcyclist with major injuries. Medics then took him to Riverside Community Hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, officials have no information about the victim’s identity. Meanwhile, the driver, who remained unharmed, stayed and cooperated with the authorities.

California Highway Patrol officers stated that it is uncertain at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. However, an active investigation is underway.
