Man Hit and Killed by Vehicle at 7th Standard Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 7, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Highway 99 left one person dead. The incident happened on April 3rd, just after 1:00 a.m., near the southbound lanes of Highway 99 at 7th Standard Road. According to reports, a pedestrian was walking on the onramp of the freeway. There, a vehicle struck him. The impact of the collision left the pedestrian with fatal injuries. Following the collision, the involved vehicle did not stop to render aid to the victim and instead drove away. Emergency crews at the site of the collision pronounced the man dead at the scene. At this time, there is no information available about the suspect. However an active investigation in currently underway.
