Female Victim Dead after Semi-Truck Collision near Highway 33

FIREBAUGH, CA (August 5, 2022) – Wednesday night, one woman was pronounced dead following a big-rig crash on Shaw Avenue.

The accident happened on August 3rd, around 9:50 p.m. Furthermore, the head-on crash involved a Hyundai and a Freightliner semi-truck.

The initial report stated that the Hyundai was heading south on Highway 33 and swerved in the opposite direction. As a result, the Hyundai struck an oncoming Freightliner.

Upon impact, the Hyundai driver was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. Meanwhile, authorities said the Freightliner driver sustained no injuries.

Authorities said alcohol or drugs were not believed to be the factor in the crash; however, an active investigation is currently ongoing.
