1 Dead after Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision near Garfield Avenue

PARAMOUNT, CA (January 27, 2022) – Monday morning, one person was killed in a fiery multi-car pileup crash on 105 Freeway.

The fatal collision occurred around 3:30 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Garfield Avenue. Crews responded to the scene shortly after.

At this time, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, witnesses reported that a Toyota Prius was engulfed in flames in the HOV lane with the driver stuck inside.

Moreover, one person was confirmed dead at the scene at 3:35 a.m. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

A SigAlert was later issued at 3:50 a.m., shutting down of all eastbound lanes of the freeway. Around 8:30 a.m., all lanes on the highway were reopened to traffic.

Further circumstances surrounding the deadly wreck are still under active investigation. Once available, more details will be provided.
