Highway 138 Crash Between a Pickup and Big-Rig Resulted to One Fatality

PHELAN, CA (August 5, 2021) A fiery crash on Highway 138 involving a big-rig, claimed the life of one person last Sunday morning.

CHP Officers responded to the incident in the early morning of August 1, near Rastall Road, a few miles south of Phelan.

Upon arrival, responders located the big-rig driver wandering around the highway after exiting the jack-knifed truck.

In addition, they also discovered the driver of the pickup truck involved inside the burning vehicle.

The San Bernardino County Coroner are currently working to identify the deceased driver inside the burned pick-up truck.

Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether the big-rig driver sustained injuries from the fiery crash that also set the truck on fire.

Highway 138 remained blocked for a couple of hours by the big-rig and reopened around 8 A.M.
