18-Year-Old Passenger Killed in Solo-Car DUI Accident on South Linden Avenue

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 16, 2022) – Saturday, Salvador Guillen Avila was killed and Angel De Jesus Castro was arrested after a DUI crash.

The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m., on South Linden Avenue on November 12th.

Investigators say Castro was driving a vehicle when he lost control and sideswiped a telephone pole. He then continued to drive before striking another telephone pole.

About an hour after the collision, medics pronounced 18-year-old Avila dead due to the extent of injuries sustained.

Following preliminary duties, officers arrested 18-year-old Castro and booked him into the San Mateo County jail. He currently faces vehicular manslaughter and other DUI related charges.
