One Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Alcosta Boulevard

DUBLIN, CA (November 15, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, one driver was killed in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 680.

The incident happened around 3:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just north of Alcosta Boulevard on November 12th.

Initial investigation showed that a Mercedes-Benz struck the center divider and was struck by a Ford Fusion, before coming to rest and being hit by a semi-truck.

The collision caused the Mercedes driver to be ejected from his vehicle which later led to his death. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Meanwhile, the police blocked the southbound lanes of Interstate 680 from 4:00 a.m., to 7:00 a.m. Following preliminary investigations, alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.

No other information was released and an active investigation is underway.
