Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision near Marks Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 28,2022) – One unidentified person died Friday after a big rig collision on Manning Avenue.

The accident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. at Manning and Marks Avenues, near Raisin City.

Officers reported that a truck driver failed to stop at a red light and was struck by a big rig in the intersection.

Despite their best efforts, first responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity has not been released at this time pending, notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig escaped the incident unharmed. Additionally both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash and will provide updates as they become available.
