Dog Owner Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Accident on Victor Avenue

VISALIA, CA (February 18, 2022) – On Wednesday night, a person died in a auto-pedestrian accident on County Center Drive.

Officers arrived in the area of County Center Drive and Victor Avenue at 7:30 p.m. after reports of a car accident.

Furthermore, authorities discovered a person lying on the road. Eventually, the victim was declared dead on the scene.

Moreover, according to police, the person was walking a leashed dog when it escaped and ran across the street.

Consequently, while trying to retrieve their dog, the owner jumped into the road and was struck by a vehicle.

Authorities withheld the name of the victim until their next of kin is notified.
