1 Dead, 4 Hurt in Fatal Collision near Osborn Road in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (July 9, 2021) – Sunday night, one person died and four others sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash near 67th Avenue.

The incident took place shortly after 10:00 p.m., near 67th Avenue and Osborn Road.

According to the authorities, a GMC pickup was traveling south when it suddenly struck to rear of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Because of the intensity of the collision, both cars were pushed into the northbound lanes, where they collided with a Ford Ranger and a Toyota Camry. Officials said the Jeep’s driver fled the area before police arrived.

In addition, one of the vehicle caught fire before emergency crews were able to put it out.

Police say that one of the two passengers inside the Ford Ranger, a 77-year-old man, later died due to the extent of his condition.

Moreover, a 73-year-old woman, a 62-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, and a 29-year-old woman, were all taken to a hospital.

At this time, the current condition of those involved remains unknown.
