Highway 99 Head-On Crash Left Multiple Casualties Including Two Galt Officers

SACRAMENTO, CA (August 25, 2021) – On Sunday, a head-on collision between a pick-up and a patrol vehicle on Highway 99 left 1 person dead.

The head-on crash occurred around 4:35 A.M. at the south bound lanes of Highway 99, north of Dillard Road.

Reports claimed that a Dodge pick-up broke through the median concrete barrier, going into the northbound lanes.

Afterwards, it collided head-on with a Galt Police Department patrol vehicle on it’s way to respond to a Caldor Fire.

As a result, the driver of the pick-up died at the scene, while the two passengers inside sustained injuries.

In addition, paramedics also transported the two police officers inside the patrol vehicle to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Later on, witnesses stated they saw the police vehicle traveling in the No.1 lane when the crash happened.

At the end, Sacramento closed down all the lanes of Highway 99 near the area for a couple of hours to investigate.
