One Dead Two Hurt in Fatal Collision near Frontage Road

PHOENIX, AZ (January 19, 2022) – Wednesday night, one person was killed and another was hurt in a tractor-trailer collision on Interstate 17.

According to police, the accident happened on the east and northbound lanes of the highway near Grant Street.

Per reports, the driver of a Chevy SUV was heading east on Grant Street and collided with a northbound tractor-trailer for reasons unknown.

Medics arrived shortly after and transported the female SUV driver to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. However, her unidentified passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics treated the tractor-trailer driver for minor injuries before also taking them to a local hospital.

Investigators currently believe that the SUV driver may have failed to stop at a red light. Although, an active investigation still remains underway.
