One Dead, 2 Hospitalized after Solo-Car Collision near 605 Freeway

DOWNEY, CA (March 11, 2022) – Saturday evening, one person died while two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway.

According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 10:50 p.m. on March 5, on a transition road to the southbound San Gabriel River 605 Freeway.

Furthermore, a gray Nissan Altima fell 200 yards down an embankment, California Highway Patrol said.

According to firefighters, the impact left two people ejected from the Nissan while one remained trapped inside. Paramedics immediately arrived and rushed the three to an area trauma center.

Despite life-saving attempts, medics later pronounced one of the victims dead at the hospital.

As per the latest reports, the circumstances that led to the crash are still being investigated.
