16-Year-Old Victim Fatally Injured in Fiery Multi-Car Accident near Gilbert Road

MESA, AZ (November 16, 2022) – Sunday morning, a teen was killed and two were injured in a fiery 6-car crash on US Route 60.

The incident happened around 9:40 a.m., near Gilbert Road on November 13th.

Per reports, an SUV collided with five other vehicles that were stopped at a red light at the intersection. The impact of the collision caused a fire to break out, spreading to other vehicles.

Emergency crews arrived shortly after and extricated a 21-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger from the wreck. Paramedics then transported them to a local hospital with serious injuries.

At the hospital, medical personnel pronounced the 16-year-old passenger dead. Meanwhile, one other person was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
