16-Year-Old Driver Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash near Road 68

TULARE COUNTY, CA (December 16, 2021) – Sunday evening, one person was killed and two were injured in a DUI collision on Highway 137.

According to the police, the incident occurred just before midnight on Highway 137 near Road 68, just west of Tulare.

Investigators say a 16-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road into an orchard, eventually striking several trees.

Due to the impact of the collision, paramedics pronounced one passenger dead at the scene. Another passenger suffered major injuries.

Meanwhile, Tulare County officials arrested the 16-year-old driver for suspected DUI after being treated for minor injuries.

At this time, authorities continue to investigate the Highway 137 crash.
