1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized after Multi-Car Collision near Sandy Mush Road

MERCED COUNTY, CA (October 20, 2021) A two-vehicle crash on Highway 59 left one driver dead and another one injured Saturday night.

The fatal incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 59 and Sandy Mush Road.

According to the CHP, a northbound sedan crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a pickup truck.

Due to the impact of the collision, the driver of the sedan died at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported that pickup driver to a nearby hospital in Modesto with unspecified injuries.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the road has since reopened to traffic.

At this time, the California Highway Patrol Officers are investigating the two-vehicle crash on Highway 59.
