Highway 99 Fatal Four-Vehicle Crash Results in Two Casualties

BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 16, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in Bakersfield claimed the life of one person and injured another.

According to the police, a Ford stopped at a construction bypass lane with a Toyota and a Honda following behind.

An incoming Dodge failed to slow down in time and rear-ended the Honda. As a result, all four cars collided, causing the multi-vehicle crash.

The 72-year-old Dodge driver suffered life-threatening injuries from the crash and died at the scene.

Meanwhile, medical personnel transported the Honda driver to Kern Medical sustaining minor injuries. According to CHP, there were no other injuries reported.

The Bakersfield officials are still currently investigating the scene on Highway 99 to identify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
