One Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near San Marco Boulevard
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (September 4, 2023) – Thursday, one victim was killed and another was hurt in a 2-car accident on State Route 4. The incident occurred shortly before 2:00 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near San Marco Boulevard. Officers say the driver of a Jeep Cherokee was stopped in the center divider and fast lane due to damages from a prior collision. The driver of an eastbound Honda Pilot SUV then struck the Jeep. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the driver of the Jeep dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity. Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
