One Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision on Interstate 80 near Greenback Lane

SACRAMENTO, CA (February 6, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, one victim was killed and another was injured in an auto collision on Interstate 80.

Dispatchers received calls in the area around 12:45 a.m., near Greenback Lane on January 29th, about an auto accident involving an unknown amount of vehicles.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that medics pronounced one person dead at the scene.

In addition, crews also transported at least one other occupant to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Several lanes were blocked during the length of the investigation and clearing duties. An active investigation is still underway at this time.
