29-Year-Old Hurt in Traffic Collision on Market Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 23, 2022) – A motorcycle crash on Market Street left one rider with significant injuries, late Monday afternoon.

On June 20th, just before 5:00 p.m., police responded to a crash involving a Triumph Motorcycle and a tow truck on Market Street.

Furthermore, the preliminary investigation revealed that the tow truck ran through a red light. Consequently, it struck the rider as they were passing into a green light.

As a result, the 29-year-old rider suffered fractures to his leg and foot, as well as a ruptured spleen. Paramedics took him immediately to a nearby hospital.

Furthermore, alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash. However, further investigations are still underway at this moment.

Motorcyclists rarely escape injury when an accident occurs. It is important to never underestimate the bike’s speed when you’re riding a motorcycle. Additionally, strictly follow traffic laws and the conditions of the road. For other drivers, do not tailgate a motorcyclist and maintain a safe following distance. Give motorcyclists a full traffic lane when you pass, as they too have equal rights on the road.
