Bicycle Hit-and-Run on Martin Luther King Jr. Way Left 1 Injured

MERCED, CA (September 8, 2021) –  A 53-year-old man sustained injuries Monday evening after a bicycle hit-and-run on Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

The crash happened around 11:22 p.m., in the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

According to the CHP, they received reports of a man lying on the roadway next to a bicycle after a white sedan from West 15th Street turned south to Martin Luther King Jr. Way and struck the man.

Authorities said the driver left the scene and continued driving toward Highway 99.

Responding emergency crews checked the bicyclist’s injuries and released him at the scene.

At this time, officials have not released the names of the injured parties or their current conditions.
