Evacuation Order Lifted after Gas Leak Due to Collision on Black Mountain Road

MIRA MESA, CA (March 22, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, one victim was hospitalized following a single-car crash on Gold Coast Drive.

The incident occurred around 3:18 p.m., near Black Mountain Road on March 15th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle crashed into a two-inch diameter line gas meter. As a result, officers advised the occupants inside the two condominium complexes on Black Mountain Road to evacuate.

Responding crews contained the gas flow but were not yet able to repair the damages. Authorities later lifted the evacuation advice at 6:27 p.m.

Meanwhile, medics transported one victim to Palomar Medical Center for further treatment. Although, their identity has not been released.
