Driver Sent to Hospital Following Two-Car Crash near Cumberland Drive
REDDING, CA (November 15, 2022) – A 66-year-old driver sustained injuries Saturday night after a 2-vehicle crash on Placer Street.
The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. near Cumberland Drive on November 5th.
A 2009 Toyota Corolla driving westbound on Placer Street, making preparations to turn left onto Cumberland, collided with a Chevy Avalanche driving eastbound on Placer Street approaching Cumberland Drive, according to authorities.
The driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche, a 42-year-old Redding resident, collided with the passenger side of the Corolla, causing both vehicles to come to a wreck near the intersection.
Responding paramedics then located the Toyota driver, a 66-year-old Redding resident with serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center.
There were no other reports of injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the CHP stated that it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident at this time. An investigation is currently underway.
