One Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 129

WATSONVILLE, CA (September 30, 2021)  A 75-year-old Aptos man lost his life Friday night after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 129 near Rogge Lane.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m., September 24, along Highway 129 and Rogge Lane.

According to reports, the Aptos man driving a 2008 Toyota Prius stopped on Rogge Lane, when a 38-year-old driver in 2001 Ford Excursion went into the westbound SR-129 and crashed into the Prius.

Emergency crews responded and declared the Aptos man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Ford driver and his 16, 6 and 7 year-old passengers only sustained minor injuries, CHP added.

Authorities, at this time, did not released the names of the parties involved.

Drugs or alcohol are not thought to have played a role in the crash, however, an active investigation is underway.
