1 Killed, 1 Injured in Auto Accident near Azusa Avenue
WEST COVINA, CA (April 28, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, one person was killed and another was hurt in a fiery crash on 10 Freeway.
Around 12:03 a.m., officers responded to the scene just west of Azusa Avenue. However, the events leading up to the deadly incident remain unclear.
Reports indicate that crews located one vehicle engulfed in flames upon arrival. In addition, another vehicle was severely damaged and had a trapped occupant inside.
Medical personnel pronounced one person dead at the scene. Meanwhile, crews transported another victim to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
Authorities closed the eastbound lanes for several hours during the investigation. Although, the road has since reopened to traffic.
No further details regarding the crash are public at this time; however, more information will be provided about the crash on 10 Freeway once made available.
