Fatality Reported after Deadly Crash near New River in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (March 11, 2021) – Early Thursday morning, one person was dead and two were injured after a rollover accident on I-17.

Officers arrived to the scene just before 4:00 a.m., on the northbound lanes. According to reports, a car rolled onto the access road and landed on its roof near Circle Mountain Road.

Upon emergency crew’s arrival, the driver was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries and another suffered life-threatening injuries.

The remaining passenger died on scene, due to the extent of injuries sustained.

The surrounding area on I-17 was closed during preliminary duties and cleanup. However, the area has since reopened to traffic.

At this time, authorities have not yet provided the identities of those involved. An active investigation is still underway. Once available, more information will be released about the rollover accident on I-17.
