One Victim Killed in Big-Rig Accident near Afton Road

BAKER, CA (September 23, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, one victim died and two sustained injuries in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 15.

The accident happened around 12:08 p.m., along the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 near Afton Road.

For reasons under investigation, a 26 foot box-truck, a semi-truck, and a Ford 350 pickup-truck hauling a 22 foot gooseneck trailer collided. Moreover, the semi-truck was said to be loaded with frozen foods, and the front of the trailer split.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene. In addition, Mercy Air 66 and Mercy Air 22 airlifted two victims to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, a fourth victim sustained minor injuries.

Emergency crews closed off both lanes of Interstate 15 during cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway. Once available, more information will be provided about the semi-truck accident on Interstate 15.
