Kan Wakan
Kan Wakan is a three piece outfit who make delicately ethereal indie pop, which incorporates jazz, electronic beats and orchestral touches. The group has played the taste-making School Night at Bardot and is in the midst of a Monday night residency at the Echoplex.

King Washington
A local fixture since 2006, King Washington is a three man rock act that infuses a classic guitar rock sound with tightly harmonized vocals. Their debut album The Gears was released in 2012, and a 2014 West Coast tour is in the works.

Mars & the Massacre
Three piece psych/rock band Mars & the Massacre play songs about drinking beer and getting fucked up and their website notes that they have come from "Mars to fuck your eardrums." But for all of this guitar driven aggression, they maintain a melodic sensibility that has made them a favorite at venues like the Silverlake Lounge, where they had a residency last November.

The New Electric Sound
Originally hailing from Provo, Utah, The New Electric Sound does smart indie pop with a blue-eyed soul meets surf rock sensibility. The five guy group is currently in the midst of a Monday night residency at the Silverlake Lounge.

This music-and-performance collective, which stylizes its name as P L a N E T S, describes itself as an "eerie post-modern garage rock opera" inspired by TV shows like Twin Peaks, The Twilight Zone and Lost. Live, the 20 or so members make darkly compelling psych rock reminiscent of "Red Right Hand"-era Nick Cave.
