Guadalupe Chavez Killed, Jose Rosas Involved in Pedestrian Collision on Highway 1 [Moss Landing, CA]

The incident occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. on April 14th, in the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of Portero Road. According to investigators, 41-year-old Chavez from Castroville was walking near the intersection when she was struck by a blue 2012 Hyundai driven by 42-year-old Rosas. The impact propelled her onto the southbound lanes, resulting in fatal injuries. Chavez was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.
