The Halloween hangover is just about gone and it's time to be a boogie man (or woman) again with a new array of themed soirees; some you can even dress up for if you didn't get to (or want to) last weekend. Funky, freaky, gloomy and groove-y, this week's DJ-driven haps keep the good times goin' and goin.'

Sat., Nov. 5

"Dance til you're dead" is the motto for Disco Death Rock, an all-dance night from Bar Sinister featuring DJ/VJ Ginger Fish (former Marilyn Manson/current Rob Zombie drummer) plus DJs Davey Rockit and Jarvis. Official afterparty for the Comikaze Expo; $5 Admission with convention wristband. Expect bizarre and creepy projections set to hard electro house & dubstep music. At Boardner's 1652 N Cherokee Ave., Hollywood. www.barsinister.net

It's no coincidence that "dance" has the name "Dan" in it. Well, at least not when DJ Dan gets on the decks. See what we mean when the electronic music fave offers a special funky house set in Hollywood on Saturday. Also spinning are DJ Mes and Adam Auburn. At the King King, 6555 Hollywood Blvd. www.homemadela.com

Funky Sole is always a good place move your feet and this Saturday gets extra toe-tappin' as soulsters The Bo-Keys (featuring Memphis veterans of Stax/Volt and Hi Records) shake things up live along with legendary vocalist Percy Wiggins. Special early show will start at 9:15 p.m. and cost $5. After that, Sole will be free as usual with its funky fleet of wax wonders: Music Man Miles, Clifton aka DJ Soft Touch, and Chico. At the Echo, 1822 Sunset Blvd., Echo Park. www.attheecho.com

Sun., Nov. 6

You "asked them, asked them, asked them..." and now you shall receive: Part Time Punks' popular Smiths Tribute Night is back. Always a charming party that brings out Moz maniacs and '80s new wave lovers alike, this installment offers something extra special too. The event will be in the bigger Echoplex space and The Sweet and Tender Hooligans' Jose Maldanado will play an early live set of Smiths/Morrissey covers (10:30 p.m.). At The Echoplex, 1154 Glendale Blvd., Echo Park. www.parttimepunks.com
