Fanatics! I am in Washington DC at the moment. Engineer X and I taped this show for you from our small studio set up.
What we have here tonight is yet another great gathering of tunes that will not only make the weekend rock but will make October all the better. Our first hour is incredible; lots of singles and stuff we have not played in awhile.
Hour two takes us to the next part of our Damned journey. Tonight, we get into the Damned's second album, Music For Pleasure. At the time of release, in late 1977, the critics were not all that good to the album and the band didn't seem too into it either. I never understood this. I dug this one the first time I heard it and I bet you will as well.
This is the last Damned album to feature the "classic" line up, featuring Brian James on guitar and as the main songwriter. It is a GREAT one and I can't wait for you to hear it all the way through.
Next week, we tackle the band's Machine Gun Etiquette album, so get ready for that.
Alice Bag Book News! Dept.: Alice Bag, of L.A.'s famous band The Bags, has released a book called Violence Girl. I have a copy on the way, and am really looking forward to checking this one out. Alice was there at the start of the L.A. Punk Rock scene. What she has to say about L.A. music comes with a lot of authority. Here's the info.
Enjoy the show and STAY FANATIC!!! --Henry
