It seems like something out of Dave Chappelle's 1998 stoner comedy classic, Half Baked, but could allegiances to specific medical marijuana dispensaries be rap's next big territory war?

If pot ever goes completely legal, and suppliers are allowed to advertise through traditional channels, the answer may be yes.

At least, that's what an odd bit of pot-inspired confluence (whoooooaaaa) that took place yesterday suggests.

Last night, Fresno-based emcee Fashawn took to Twitter to express his satisfaction with his local pot shop of choice, Central Valley Collective.

In particular, it was the Grizzly City Kush that did it, apparently, as he continued to wax poetic about, and post photos of, the weed strain over a four-hour period in the studio.

Meanwhile, L.A. hip-hop crew Strong Arm Steady -- Krondon and Mitchy Slick, produced by Madlib on their latest album, In Search of Stoney Jackson -- released their "Cheeba Cheeba" music video earlier in the day, filmed at the L.A. Kush Hemporium.

Watch the video ...

in which the two rappers handle Scarface-worthy amounts of the green stuff. Perhaps In Search of Stoney Montana would've been a more apt name for the album.

This comes only a couple of weeks after Oxnard's MED flaunted his legal smoker's status in the clip for "MEDical Card." Does every artist on the Stones Throw roster own a medical marijuana card? Stupid question, we know.

Here's a photo of Fashawn's "fresh jar," along with a suggested pairing.
