They may not be newcomers to L.A.'s music scene, but singer/songwriters Inara George (The Bird and the Bee), Becky Stark (Lavender Diamond and founder of LA. Ladies Choir) and Eleni Mandell have pooled their talents for their new project, The Living Sisters. The retro-pop folksters recently made appearances with Harper Simon at the Disney Concert Hall and have recorded an album with Vanguard Records that should be released in March. Their sweet songs imbued with the cadences of doo-wop, classic country, and folk evoke a nostalgia for the pure and simple songs of last century. They will certainly play some more hometown shows and we will let you know when ever these honey-voiced angels touch down.

The top score was awarded to crowd-surfing guitarist Kingslayer, the mother of a teenage son who also competed wearing little more than an American flag bathing suit. All photos by Gustavo Turner.
